Phoenix Fest Has Begun!

Infinity Visual and Performing Arts is excited to begin their inaugural “Phoenix Fest”, a virtual music and arts event to showcase local musicians, local artists, Infinity Students, and more!

This grassroots fundraising initiative comes on the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused the cancellation of all of Infinity’s 2020 fundraising events, including their Annual Campaign, Art Market and Auction, Spring Student Showcase, and Local Music Showcase.

Infinity Phoenix Fest will take place online between August 21, 2020 and August 30, 2020 with the goal to involve as many community members as possible to help spread the word, spark excitement for Infinity’s mission, and ignite the power of grassroots, local giving. Visit Infinity’s website and social media pages for an event schedule and additional opportunities to help spread the word! Up to date information can be found online at www.infinityperformingarts.org and www.facebook.com/infinityvisualandperformingarts

Infinity Phoenix Fest will take place completely virtually, and all events will be visible by the public through Infinity’s Facebook page, as well as a variety of participating local musician and artist pages.

Local musicians and artists will host live performances, demonstrations, and creation of art. Infinity will showcase a series of pre-recorded videos, and live student performances, and all events will utilize shared donate buttons to raise funds to support Infinity and their youth arts education programming.  Infinity is also encouraging supportive community members to create peer-to-peer fundraisers through their online giving platform, share posts and events to help spread the word, or even sponsor lesson rooms at the Infinity Center. Phoenix Fest will also feature an online auction and basket raffles featuring local goods.

Infinity’s Executive Director, Shane Hawkins, said, “Each year, our team at Infinity conducts more than a dozen fundraising efforts and events to raise $60-70,000 towards Infinity’s annual operational costs. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of nearly all Infinity fundraising initiatives this year. Phoenix Fest is a collection of our favorite parts of many of our cancelled fundraisers. It is a community event, it incorporates our musician and artist community, and it provides a virtual performance venue and show for everyone in our community. We miss our students, we miss our performances and audiences, and we hope this event will celebrate community, set the stage for Infinity’s comeback after COVID, and bring everyone who tunes in a week of engaging Phoenix Fest entertainment.”

All funds raised will support programming at the Infinity Center, which has continued to serve students with virtual private lessons, small virtual group classes, and even online student performances during the shutdown. Infinity continues to offer enrollment for virtual learning opportunities as well as temporary and long-term scholarship options for families in need. Infinity’s new program year begins on September 1, 2020!

As of 6/25/20 Infinity has surpassed the half-way mark of our fundraising goal! We hope you’ll join us this week as we complete the rest of the thermometer!

Infinity Announces “Phoenix Fest” Fundraising Event

JAMESTOWN, NY (July 23, 2020) – Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Inc. will be hosting a virtual fundraising event to showcase local musicians, local artists, Infinity Students, and more! This grassroots fundraising initiative comes on the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused the cancellation of  all of Infinity’s 2020 fundraising events, including their Annual Campaign, Art Market and Auction, Spring Student Showcase, and Local Music Showcase.

The idea for a virtual fundraiser sprang from the excitement of Infinity staff and individuals from the local music and arts scene who wanted to help Infinity and their students despite the cancellation of in-person events.

We miss our students, we miss our performances and audiences, and we hope this event will celebrate community, set the stage for Infinity’s comeback after COVID, and bring everyone who tunes in a week of engaging Phoenix Fest entertainment.”

Infinity Phoenix Fest will take place online between August 21, 2020 and August 30, 2020 with the goal to involve as many community members as possible to help spread the word, spark excitement for Infinity’s mission, and ignite the power of grassroots, local giving.

Ashley Ordines, Infinity Development Coordinator, says, “2020 has been a difficult year for so many people, to say the least. A massive part of what is missing from our lives right now is art and entertainment. We’re missing concerts, plays, musicals, art shows, movies and so much more. These things make our community so special for so many people, and Infinity plays a very big part in that. Through annual fundraising events such as the Infinity Art Market, Spring Showcase and Local Music Showcase, Infinity contributes a huge amount to the culture of this area. With the cancelation of these events, Infinity now has A LOT to make up in lost fundraising. It is my hope that Phoenix Fest can offer an entertaining community experience, and help Infinity to rise again, even while we can’t be together.”

As a virtual event, Infinity Phoenix Fest will take place online. All events will be completely visible by the public through Infinity’s Facebook page, as well as a variety of participating local musician and artist pages. Local musicians will go live to perform concerts and raise funds for Infinity, Local Artists will have the opportunity to create something live, showcase their work, or give virtual tours of their studios while also fundraising for Infinity through shared donate buttons. Infinity is also encouraging supportive community members to create peer-to-peer fundraisers through their online giving platform, share posts and events to help spread the word, or even sponsor lesson rooms at the Infinity Center. Phoenix Fest will also feature an online auction and basket raffles featuring local goods.

All funds raised will support programming at the Infinity Center, which has continued to serve students with virtual private lessons, small virtual group classes, and even online student performances during the shutdown. Infinity continues to offer enrollment for online virtual learning opportunities as well as temporary and long-term scholarship options for families in need. Infinity instructors also created more than 40 Community Learning videos that can be accessed anytime through Infinity’s YouTube channel.

Infinity Grants and Marketing Coordinator, Stephanie Rogers shares, “It was a heartbreaking decision to cancel our events this year. Local Music Showcase was particularly difficult for me as one of the event coordinators, so to see our community begin to rally ideas and come up with alternative ways to support Infinity was an amazing thing to see play out on our online forums! We are so grateful to the community for all that they do to keep the arts scene alive and support what’s going on at the Infinity Center as we nurture the next generation of musicians and artists under our roof!”

If you would like to be involved in Infinity Phoenix Fest, or would like more information about supporting the cause as a donor or sponsor, please contact Infinity at PhoenixFest@infinityperformingarts.org.

Cancellation Announcement: Local Music Showcase

To our valued community,

For the last 16 years, Infinity has been lucky to call a number of venues, musicians, volunteers, and event goers our Community Partners. Each September, we’ve come together as a community to celebrate youth, music education, community, and local music through our Local Music Showcase event. With your help, we have been able to ensure that music and arts instruction at the Infinity Center is available for every student in our region with a desire to learn.

2020 has been a year of navigating new territory for everyone.

It is with sadness that Infinity will be cancelling this year’s 17th Annual Local Music Showcase, originally slated for Saturday, September 12, 2020.

This decision was not made lightly, but with regard to maintaining the safety and vibrancy of our community and the businesses and people who make our community such a wonderful place to call home.

Our venues, musicians, volunteers, and community are a priority for us. We want to make sure the event, when held, can maintain the spirit of celebration that it was built on.

Infinity has had to cancel all of our largest fundraising events of the year; Infinity’s Annual Art Market, our Annual Campaign, our Annual Spring Showcase, and now, Local Music Showcase. We are thinking hard and hope to soon be able to coordinate fundraising events that will help bridge the growing budget gap that Infinity is experiencing this year.

THANK YOU for all that you do to strengthen our programming and our community each year. We couldn’t do this without you!

Sincerely,
Shane and Steph

JUNE UPDATE

6/4/2020

Dear Parents and Students,

It’s June and we are nearing our 12th week of shutdown. With all of the current sadness and turmoil in the country, and the continued situation of COVID-19’s impact worldwide, we are so thankful for the resilience, positivity, and dedicated efforts of our students and the Infinity team.

Thousands of digital lessons have happened, group classes have been revived online, instructors have created dozens of video tutorials for their students and our community, students are performing live on Facebook every week, and our online art gallery is filling up.

Students should reach out to their instructor if they are interested in participating in a live performance event, submitting a pre-recorded performance video for one of our events, or submitting art work for the online gallery. Contact Infinity program staff for more info about Group Class options, or if you had taken a break from lessons and would like to start back up again!

Digital lessons are going strong, but in-person lessons are still on hold during the month of June as we continue to watch and learn about the best ways to safely navigate the COVID situation. Although summer programing has been approved by NYS, Infinity will not have Summer Camps in July. We have not yet made a final decision about August Camps.

We are spending time in June deep cleaning and re-organizing the Infinity Center, and are hopeful for a July soft re-opening for select lessons. Re-opening will be decided based on CDC, NYS, and Chautauqua County guidelines. Digital/remote lessons will continue to be an option for students and families for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned later this month for a questionnaire to determine interest in resuming onsite lessons.

Parent and Student Update

Good Afternoon Parents and Students,

We miss seeing you at Infinity, we miss seeing Infinity students perform on our stage, we miss hearing students in lessons, and we miss instructors and their students walking in the halls. This ‘new normal’ is strange for sure, but we are so happy to report that the digital/remote lessons are going so well – nearly 1,000 digital lessons have been completed!

Everyone has worked hard to adjust to this new way of learning, and we are so excited to be able to keep our students engaged, and our instructors teaching.

Thank you for your support and willingness to try new things!

Infinity will NOT have any onsite, in-person lessons until further notice.

We are hopeful for a June re-opening, but that will depend on many factors including NYS, Chautauqua County, and CDC guidelines, and local statistics. When re-opening does occur, we will continue to offer options for digital/remote lessons for families who would prefer that. We will keep you updated with any changes.

Performance is one area that was particularly hard hit for our students. Our annual Spring Showcase is cancelled, and numerous recitals, Kaleidoscope Nights, and performance events have been cancelled. We are creative problem solvers, though!

We have had three successful “Facebook Live” pilot events in recent weeks and are continuing to develop this component.

Please reach out to your instructor if you are interested in participating in any of the following Performance and Showcasing Opportunities for students:

o   Facebook Live Infinity Quaran-tunes shows

o   Digital Art Show

o   Senior Showcase

o   Spring ‘Homecase’ event

GROUP CLASSES are being developed and some re-started in a digital/remote format. Please reach out to request any specific classes or instructors!

Please check out the wonderful complimentary VIDEOS our instructors have created for students! New videos are added often; feel free to share them!

Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Inc. remains dedicated to providing music and arts instruction to Chautauqua area students through COVID-19 shutdowns by providing digital lesson opportunities to all who would like to learn!

Infinity has successfully transitioned nearly 200 registered students to online learning experiences through the dedicated help of their staff and more than 40 instructor mentors who are focused on keeping our community learning. Infinity is now accepting new students on a rolling enrollment basis for digital music, art, dance, and theater lesson opportunities.

Infinity Executive Director, Shane Hawkins, says, “Safely keeping students learning and instructors teaching was our primary focus when we decided to transition to online learning opportunities. We recognize that this is a difficult time for many in our community, and we wanted to provide a small piece of normalcy and routine for our students; even if that has to happen online. Having a creative outlet and connection to mentors is more important than ever right now.”

Student may register online at www.infinityperformingarts.org/register at any time, and will be contacted by an Infinity staff member within 72 business hours of completing a form to be scheduled with an instructor. New adult students may also enroll online at any time.

Infinity is also offering a free trial lesson option to all students who would like to explore music and the arts and see if Infinity is the right fit for them! Simply CLICK HERE for a link to request a free trial experience.

Our instructors are excited to continue working with new students, and look forward to the day when the Infinity Center doors can open again!

Infinity is currently offering both temporary and long-term scholarship options to help defray membership costs and keep learning experiences possible for all who wish to participate. We strongly encourage anyone needing short-term or long-term financial assistance to apply, including those who have recently been affected by temporary COVID-19 job closures.

Additionally, Infinity’s instructors have created a number of short tutorials and learning experiences at no cost to the community via our “Community Arts Education Series” which can be found on YouTube and Facebook, and is funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts.

For more information, contact the Infinity Center via email at info@infinityperformingarts.org. All Infinity staff and instructors are currently working remotely but are able to answer all questions and help you enroll!

Open Registration- Infinity Goes Digital!

Infinity’s mission has always been to provide students with a desire to learn an opportunity to explore their creative talents with the support and guidance of a mentor. We feel that it is important, especially now, to continue offering services to our community during this time of uncertainty.

Beginning March 20, Infinity transitioned private lessons to digital learning opportunities. Lessons still take place one on one with an instructor, from the comfort and safety of your home. More than 200 of our current students are still participating in on-line learning, and we are excited to provide that continuity until we are able to re-open the Infinity Center.

Infinity will be accepting on-going student enrollment/registration during this time, and with the capacity to provide need-based scholarships for students (18 and under) with financial need, we will ensure that every young person in the Chautauqua region can grow, learn, and lead through active participation in the visual and performing arts!

Lesson options are available to both students and adults, within music, art, dance, and theater. Interested students should complete a registration form, as well as a scholarship application (as needed) and return them via email to info@infinityperformingarts.org.

If you are applying for a scholarship due to current COVID-19 situations, please include a short letter explaining that need.

We look forward to spreading joy through the arts within our community during this time of need.

We also encourage you to view our Community Arts Education Series learning opportunities and share your final products with us on social media!
