Infinity’s Ultimate Adventure Challenge (IUAC) is an outdoor recreation challenge that combines elements of a traditional hiking challenge with a scavenger hunt. Beginning in May and ending in December, registered participants are given a list of hiking trails, outdoor art installations, and public spaces to visit, where they will search for specific landmarks. Participants will take ‘selfies’ with these landmarks, and then upload them to our online portal. When a participant finishes the challenge requirements, they will be awarded a finisher number, and earn a unique patch and sticker design by local artist, Ash Pickering.
This fundraiser is a great way to spend time with your friends, adventure outdoors with your family, and experience the beauty of our region, all while supporting Infinity!
TWO WAYS TO JOIN IN THE FUN!
Local: Participants who select the Local Challenge, will be given a list of hiking trails, public spaces and outdoor art, within a 30 mile radius of Infinity, (downtown Jamestown, NY). This year we have expanded our local challenge to more than just Chautauqua County, in order to bring our participants to new and exciting places in our region. Local Challenge participants must visit at least 20/24 locations on the provided list and upload corresponding selfies, to earn a patch and sticker.
Choose Your Own Adventure: This version of the challenge allows anyone to participate in IUAC from ANYWHERE in the world! Participants who “choose their own adventure” will select 8 hiking trails, 8 public spaces and 8 outdoor art installations to visit, and upload corresponding selfies for all 24 of these locations, in order to earn a patch and sticker.
WHY:
Infinity is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and fundraising is so important to keep our youth programming current, fun, and relevant for our students! During 2020 in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, we needed to reimagine our traditional fundraising events, while avoiding large, crowded, in-person gatherings. In addition to being artists and musicians, many members of the Infinity community are avid outdoor enthusiasts. We believe that there is a connection between music, art, and nature, and this challenge is our way of honoring that connection.
