
Julie Anderson is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Elementary Education with a music concentration. Julie has graduate credits in music education in Kodaly and Orff certification, studying with Jean Sinor, Grace Nash, and Jane Alexander. Since coming to Jamestown in 1989, she studied piano with Mrs. Helga Hulse for 14 years and performed in faculty recitals of Keyboard Instructors.
She has taught has taught general music classes, piano, and guitar for years “too numerous to mention”. Julie applies leading education ideas to reading music, looking for patterns in rhythms and sound to teach students of all ages and levels to become musically literate. Using the Internet to research and discover new teaching materials, she has been especially learning about programs to teach children as young as 3 or 4 through poetry, movement, and math.

Since coming to Jamestown in 1989, she has studied piano with Mrs. Helga Hulse and performed in 6 faculty recitals of keyboard instructors. She currently sings at Zion Convenant Church under the direction of Brian Bogey, plays with 2 praise bands, and is in the handbell choir.
