Gavin Paterniti is a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County and the greater Jamestown area. He is a 2005 graduate of Falconer Central School and a 2010 graduate of SUNY Fredonia, where he received his bachelor’s degree in communications. His previous work includes serving as features/entertainment reporter for The Post-Journal, and as digital marketing specialist for the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts. He currently works full-time as programming coordinator for WRFA-LP 107.9 FM.
Gavin has been performing music since he first picked up a pair of drumsticks in fourth grade. Throughout his middle and high school career he was a member of concert band, marching band, jazz band and choir; and went on to perform with the Jamestown Community College jazz ensemble and the SUNY Fredonia choir in his college years. Additionally, he has been playing guitar and bass in his numerous bands and projects since 2001, and has performed more than 600 shows in total.
Gavin lives by the philosophy of learning and growing by doing. Musically, he is constantly striving to explore different genres, styles and sounds; while professionally, he is pushing himself into previously uncharted territory: teaching. It is his desire to be able to give back to the community that has supported him through his musical career by instilling a sense of wonder and a passion for the arts in the next generation of artists.
