James Piorkowski and Fredonia Guitar Quartet to perform at Infinity Arts Café

Posted on February 18, 2014 by Stephanie

Friday, March 7
7:00pm-8:30pm

The evening will feature solo and ensemble performances, performed exclusively on hand-crafted classical guitars from Jamestown’s famed luthier, Jim Holler. The Fredonia Guitar Quartet will perform music from France and Spain for four guitars. The FGQ’s members are Alexander Rockwell, Matthew Downey, Matt Mazanek, and Devon Kelly. James Piorkowski, SUNY Distinguished Professor at the Fredonia School of Music, will perform his original compositions for solo guitar.

The guitars in performance built by Jim Holler:
Alexander Rockwell #25
Matt Downey #29
Matt Mazanek  #70
Devon Kelly #96
James Piorkowski # 99

This concert is the culmination of the Twenty Year Anniversary celebration of Jim Holler’s guitar building career.  “ What a great way to celebrate the guitars I have built with this collaboration between Trinity Guitars, Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, and the School of Music in Fredonia. With five guitars in performance and six guitars on display this event will span my complete career from the first guitar to the newest one off the work bench”, says Jim Holler.
